    What Is Collector Score?

The Collector Score is a competitive scoring system that ranks players based on their collections of Block Explorers, Passes, and Badges. It launched December 17, 2024 during the Wonderland Season as an “open beta” and has run every season since.

The system awards real UPX prizes to top performers each season. As of Blossom 2026, first place earns 200,000 UPX (approximately $200 at standard rates).

There is one significant caveat: 16 months after launch, the Collector Score leaderboard is still hosted outside the Upland game platform. It remains in “open beta” with no published timeline for in-game integration.

    How Your Score Is Calculated

Your Collector Score is calculated from three asset categories with fixed percentage weightings:

Category Weight What Counts Scoring Factors
Block Explorers 30% All Block Explorers in your collection Age (older = more points), mint total (lower = rarer), mint number (lower = more prestigious). Director BEs scored equally across accounts.
Passes 20% Season Passes + City Passes Each pass owned contributes points. Rarer Season Pass versions score higher.
Badges 50% All badges earned Rarity based on number of holders — fewer holders = higher points. This is the heaviest-weighted category.

Burned items are excluded. Any Block Explorer, Pass, or Badge you burn is removed from your score calculation. Hold your valuable collectibles.

What the Formula Does NOT Tell You

    • Exact point values per category are not published — only the percentage weights are known.
    • How Block Explorer “age” and “mint number” translate to specific numeric scores is undisclosed.
    • Whether the formula has been adjusted since the December 2024 launch — no article has mentioned a formula update.
    • Whether activating (burning) a Season Pass to unlock its contents removes that pass from your score — the “burned items excluded” rule is clear, but whether pass activation counts as burning is not documented.

    The Two Leaderboards

    Seasonal Leaderboard

Resets every season (~6 weeks). Tracks only collectibles released during the current season. This is the leaderboard that awards prizes. At the end of each season, prizes are distributed to the top 25 players.

Tiebreaker: If two players reach the same score, the player who reached it first takes the higher position.

    All-Time Leaderboard

Cumulative across all seasons. Never resets. Reflects your total collecting history. No prize structure for the All-Time leaderboard has been documented in any official article.

    Prize History

The Collector Score Challenge has awarded prizes every season since launch. Prize currency shifted from SPARKLET to UPX after the inaugural season.

Season Date 1st–3rd Place 4th–10th Place 11th–25th Place
Wonderland 2024 (launch) Dec 2024 Wonderland Tycoon BE + 1,000 SPARKLET + Collector Badge Wonderland Tycoon BE + 500 SPARKLET Wonderland Tycoon BE

Blossom 2025 Apr 2025 Prize details not documented
Sizzle 2025 Aug 2025 200,000 UPX + Collector Badge + Ep. 4 Lore Legit 50,000 UPX + Ep. 4 Lore Legit Ep. 4 Lore Legit
Harvest 2025 Oct 2025 200,000 UPX + Collector Badge + Ep. 7 Lore Legit 50,000 UPX + Ep. 7 Lore Legit Ep. 7 Lore Legit

Blossom 2026 (current) Apr 2026 200,000 UPX + Collector Badge + Budley the Roselight BE 50,000 UPX + Roselight BE Roselight BE

The currency shift: The launch season awarded SPARKLET (1,000 and 500) — Upland's tradeable utility token. From Sizzle 2025 onward, prizes switched to UPX (200,000 and 50,000). This represents both a change in prize currency and a significant escalation in nominal value.

Note: Lore Legit episode numbers differ between the Collectors and Builders Score Challenges. The numbers shown here are for the Collectors challenge specifically. The NFLPA Playoffs Edition (Feb 2025) and Collector Protocol PvE events (Jun/Jul 2025) are separate from the standard seasonal leaderboard.

    The Open Beta Problem

    Real Talk

The Collector Score has been in “open beta, outside the Upland platform” for 16 months. The leaderboard is hosted on an external website, not integrated into the game client. Upland's stated goal — to “refine and eventually integrate” — has not changed since the December 2024 launch announcement. Meanwhile, real UPX prizes (200,000 for first place) are being awarded every season through this external system. If the feature is mature enough to award real currency prizes every season since launch, the question is why it hasn't been brought into the game it awards prizes for.

For context, consider how this compares to Upland's other scoring systems:

    • Resident Score (Jul 2025) — integrated into Gamified Earnings missions within 5 months of announcement
    • Influence Score (Jul 2025) — same integration timeline
    • Collector Score (Dec 2024) — still external after 16 months
    • Greenery Score (Apr 2026) — just announced, no mechanics published

The Collector Score was the first of these four scoring mechanics, and it remains the only one operating outside the game platform.

How Collector Score Relates to Other Scores

Upland has introduced four distinct scoring mechanics in under 18 months. Each measures something different and creates different spending incentives:

Score Launched What It Measures Integrated?
Collector Score Dec 2024 Block Explorers, Passes, Badges External leaderboard (“open beta”)
Resident Score Jul 2025 Neighborhood population (Uppies attracted) Yes — Gamified Earnings missions (recalibrated Apr 2026)
Influence Score Jul 2025 Neighborhood influence and development Yes — Gamified Earnings missions (recalibrated Apr 2026)
Greenery Score Apr 2026 Plants and Life-related activity Just announced — no mechanics published

The Collector Score is independent of the other three. It does not affect your Gamified Earnings yield, your Resident Score, or your Influence Score. It is a standalone competitive system with its own prize pool.

Important: The April 2026 recalibration of Resident and Influence Scores does NOT apply to the Collector Score. These are separate systems.

    Strategy Tips

    • Prioritize badges. At 50% weighting, badges are the single most impactful category. Rare badges (fewer holders) contribute the most. Participate in limited events, complete challenges, and hold badges others don't have.
    • Don't burn collectibles. Burned items are excluded from your score. This is especially important for Block Explorers and Badges. If you're chasing Collector Score, hold everything.
    • Block Explorer age matters. Older BEs score higher. If you have early-mint, low-number Block Explorers, they're more valuable to your score than newer ones — hold them.
    • Focus on the current season. The Seasonal Leaderboard (the one with prizes) only counts items released during the current season. Buying last season's passes won't help your seasonal ranking.
    • Season Pass timing. If you need the pass for its contents, activate it. But be aware that activation may count as burning — this interaction is not documented. If you're competing seriously for Collector Score, consider holding an unactivated pass alongside an activated one.
    • Skip Block Explorers unless you're competing. At $20+ for city-release Block Explorers, they're only worth buying for Collector Score if you're actively chasing the leaderboard. For most players, that money is better spent elsewhere.
