Quick Take

Blossom Season Gamified Earnings details are out. 10 missions total: 2 season-long (Influence Score +1, Residents +1) and 8 weekly missions announced each Monday. Yield tiers confirmed: 5 missions = 14.7%, all 10 = 15.2% max. New Completionist Block Explorer (Budley the Ground Breaker) for finishing all 10 missions, plus a Collector Score Challenge with prize tiers up to 200,000 UPX. Update (April 8, 2026): Upland has since recalibrated the Resident and Influence Score systems and auto-completed the two score-based missions for Blossom Season. See the update block below.

⚡ Update — April 8, 2026: Resident & Influence Score Recalibration

Editor's notes have been added to the official Upland events page (dated 4/6/26 and 4/8/26) announcing a significant recalibration of the Resident and Influence Score systems ahead of the Life launch. Summary of what changed:

  • A new Greenery Score is being introduced.
  • Players should expect "significant shifts in both individual and neighborhood resident counts" over the coming days and weeks.
  • The two season-long missions tied to Resident Score and Influence Score are being auto-completed for any player who plants at least one plant — effectively bypassing the scoring system for the remainder of Blossom Season.
  • Resident and Influence-based missions "will return in Genesis Season once the updated systems are fully stabilized."

Upland's stated reason, in their own words: "This ensures players are not negatively impacted by system recalibration while still encouraging participation in Life."

What's Promised vs. What's Delivered

Claim Status Notes
Mission details published ⬜ Baseline Specific mission requirements (decorate 10 structures, build 3 service structures) stated for Week 1. This is standard practice — Upland publishes mission details every season. Not an improvement, baseline behavior.
Yield tiers transparent ⬜ Baseline Full breakdown from 1 task (5.88%) to 10 tasks (15.2%). Published every season as standard practice. The more important fact: 15.2% max is still below the ~17% pre-Gamified-Earnings passive yield.
"Residents and Influence Score" foundational to future seasons (Apr 6 version) ⏸️ Paused (Apr 8) Original April 6 framing was "just the beginning... will matter more in future seasons." As of April 8, Upland has paused mission dependency on these scores. Now auto-completed via single plant placement for Blossom.
New Greenery Score introduced (Apr 8) ✅ Announced Fourth distinct scoring mechanic announced in under a year: Resident Score, Influence Score, Collector Score, now Greenery Score. Details on calculation and weighting not yet published.
Resident/Influence missions return in Genesis Season (Apr 8) ⏳ Deferred "Once the updated systems are fully stabilized." No specific date. Genesis Season follows Blossom (Blossom ends May 15, 2026).
Collector Score "open beta, outside the platform" ⚠️ Caveat The leaderboard exists but is not integrated into the game yet. "Goal is to refine and eventually integrate."
Weekly missions reward "the most active players" ✅ By design Missed missions cannot be recovered. No catch-up mechanism beyond the single Wildcard Token.

Real Talk

Real Talk — April 8 Update

Upland's own words: "This ensures players are not negatively impacted by system recalibration." Less than 24 hours after we published our audit documenting how Resident and Influence Scores function as an uncontrollable maintenance-cost penalty, Upland auto-completed those exact missions — because their own changes would negatively impact players. That's not our framing. It's the exact language Upland used to justify bypassing a scoring system they integrated into earnings just five months ago.

Real Talk — April 8 Update

Resident Score went live November 6, 2025. It was integrated into Gamified Earnings on December 1, 2025 ("for the first time"). It has been framed as the future of gameplay ever since. On April 8, 2026 — five months later — Upland is recalibrating it and telling players the missions will return "once the updated systems are fully stabilized." A scoring system that is actively integrated into earnings should not need to be "stabilized" after five months of live deployment. If it's not stable enough to hold players accountable to, it's not stable enough to base yield tiers on either.

Real Talk — April 8 Update

The new Greenery Score is the fourth distinct scoring mechanic Upland has introduced in under a year: Resident Score (July 2025), Influence Score (July 2025), Collector Score (Wonderland 2025), and now Greenery Score (April 2026). Each one arrives with "just the beginning" framing. Each gets integrated into earnings, missions, or prizes. And each gets quietly recalibrated before it fully delivers on the original promise. Worth asking: at what point does "just the beginning" end?

Real Talk

The yield tier breakdown is published — 5 missions gets you 14.7%, all 10 gets you 15.2%. The number players should remember: even maxing out at 15.2% is still less than the ~17% passive yield players had before Gamified Earnings existed. You now work harder for less.

Real Talk

Two season-long missions tied to Residents and Influence Score is a significant signal — Upland is openly stating these mechanics will "matter more in future seasons." If you've been ignoring Resident Score because it has no tangible reward today, this season is your warning that the floor is shifting under it.

Real Talk

The Collector Score Challenge prizes are real money: 200K UPX is roughly $200 USD value for first place. But the leaderboard system is "open beta, outside the Upland platform" — you're competing on a system that isn't integrated into the game yet. Worth knowing before chasing top placement.
