    What This Page Is

In March 2026, Upland announced Trade Routes — a new economic system connecting neighborhoods through commerce. Offices are live today. Trade Routes, Trailers, and Distribution Centers are “later in 2026.” This guide separates what exists from what’s been promised.

    Current Status: April 2026

    Feature Status
Office Structures (permanent store) ✔ Live
Commerce Score system ❌ Announced, not live
Bonds between neighborhoods ❌ Announced, not live
Trade Routes ❌ “Later in 2026”
Trailers (new asset class) ❌ “Later in 2026”
    Distribution Centers ❌ “Future announcements”
Semi Trucks for cargo transport ❌ Sold ($175), Trade Routes not live
    Real Talk

This is the third parallel “buy now for future features” funnel running simultaneously. Offices → Commerce Score → Trade Routes. Semi Trucks → Trailers → Trade Routes. Marinas → Boats → Fishing. All targeting “later in 2026.” The template from Uppies (sell preparations, deliver later) is now industrialized across three systems at once.

    Office Structures (LIVE)

Office Structures are the first component of the Trade Route system. Unlike most previous assets, these are permanent additions to the store — not limited-time drops.

    Office Type Price Notes
Small Office 30,000 UPX Solid starter option
Large Office 50,000 UPX More Office Units per structure
Office Complex $10 USD Wide campus footprint
Office Tower $15 USD Vertical, leaves room for other structures

Each Office Structure contains Office Units — representing commercial activity in that neighborhood. More Office Units = stronger commercial presence.

    What Offices Do Today

Right now, offices are structures you place on properties. They contain Office Units but the Commerce Score system that gives those units meaning isn’t live yet.

    What Offices Will Do (Promised)

    • Contribute to a neighborhood’s Commerce Score
    • Create Bonds between neighborhoods through reciprocal office placements
    • Attract Uppies who seek employment opportunities
    • Level up over time as Uppies work in them

    How Bonds Work (Announced)

A Bond is created when two players establish reciprocal commercial presence between neighborhoods:

    1. Player A has their home address in Neighborhood X
    2. Player A builds an Office in Neighborhood Y
    3. Player B has their home address in Neighborhood Y
    4. Player B builds an Office in Neighborhood X
    5. A mutual Bond is formed between Neighborhoods X and Y

Key rule: Building offices in your OWN neighborhood does NOT create Bonds. Bonds require cross-neighborhood reciprocal placements.

    What Strengthens Bonds

    • Unique mutual participants — more players involved = stronger bonds
    • Balance — a 5↔5 relationship is stronger than 5↔1
    • Network diversity — connections to many neighborhoods beats relying on a few
    • Distance — longer-range connections will offer greater opportunities when Trade Routes launch

    Trade Routes (Not Yet Built)

Trade Routes are described as the exploration-through-commerce counterpart to fishing’s exploration-through-water.

The concept: Players send vehicles (especially Semi Trucks) across road networks between neighborhoods, discovering Troves along established trade paths. Where fishing explores waterways, Trade Routes explore roads.

    Trailers

A new asset class. Trailers are standalone map assets placed at Distribution Centers — they don’t physically connect to Semi Trucks. All Semi Truck owners will receive a free Trailer when they become available.

    Distribution Centers

Commercial hubs where goods are loaded for transport. Details “in future announcements.”

    Semi Trucks

    Date Vehicle Price Qty Status
    Mar 19, 2026 2026 Series S Trim Semi Truck $175 200 ❌ For Trade Routes “later in 2026”

Five color options (random): Red, Deep Blue, Gray, Olive, White. Largest cargo capacity of any vehicle. Free Trailer included when available.

    Real Talk

$175 for a vehicle whose primary purpose — transporting cargo across Trade Routes — doesn’t exist yet. The free Trailer is a nice touch, but you’re buying positioning in a system that hasn’t been built. Same pattern as buses ($199 in Sep 2025, boosts took 7 months), same pattern as boats ($50–$150 in Feb 2026, still non-functional).

    Sparklet Store Changes

Alongside the Trade Routes announcement, Upland reduced Sparklet packages in the app store:

    • 35% less Sparklet per package
    • $50, $100, $300 bundles moved to web-only
    • $5, $10, $25 bundles remain on mobile

Upland’s stated reason: reduce excess supply from the store and push players toward exchanges/bridges where “player demand” sets the price. In practice, this means Sparklet costs more per dollar through the app.

    Strategy Recommendations

Offices are the safe play. They’re permanent store items (no FOMO), priced in UPX (no USD required for two tiers), and they’ll be needed whenever Commerce Score goes live. No rush to buy, but no risk in buying early if you have UPX to spare.

Semi Trucks are a bet on timing. If Trade Routes launch in 2026 as announced, early buyers are positioned. If they’re delayed (as most Upland features have been), you’re holding a $175 asset with no current utility.

Focus on cross-neighborhood relationships now. If you plan to participate in Trade Routes, start identifying players in other neighborhoods who might want to do reciprocal office placements. The Bond system rewards preparation and community coordination — exactly the kind of thing the Upland Revival community is built for.
