    What Is the Influence Score?

The Influence Score measures your personal contribution to a neighborhood’s infrastructure and activity. It’s one of several inputs to the overall Resident Score.

Introduced in September 2025 as part of the Residents system, the Influence Score tracks things like transportation infrastructure, service structures, construction activity, and property development.

    What Factors Into It

Upland has described the following as contributing factors:

    • Transportation — Vehicles, transit infrastructure
    • Service Structures — Type, quantity, and category coverage
    • Property Development — Buildings, decorations, overall investment
    • Activity — Trading, construction, engagement in the neighborhood

    What We Don’t Know

The specific weights of each factor have never been published. Upland’s guidance amounts to “build balanced neighborhoods” without defining what “balanced” means mathematically.

    Real Talk

The Influence Score was introduced with a critical warning: players who don’t contribute to their neighborhood will receive a “negative score” resulting in “fewer rewards.” This created pressure to buy structures and vehicles without knowing exactly how they’d be valued. You’re spending to improve a score whose formula is hidden.

How It Connects to Other Systems

    Layer Status
Influence Score (your contribution) Live — tracking active
Resident Score (neighborhood attractiveness) Live — rankings visible
    Uppie attraction Promised, partially delivered
    Neighborhood benefits Promised, not delivered

Each layer depends on the one before it. Currently, the scoring layers exist but the tangible benefits at the bottom don’t.

    Gamified Earnings Connection

Starting in Wonderland Season 2025, Influence Score was incorporated into Gamified Earnings missions. Season-long missions included targets like:

    • Increase your Influence Score by a certain amount
    • Maintain a minimum Influence Score

This means your Influence Score directly affects your ability to complete missions, which affects your yield. The scoring system that has no direct rewards now indirectly impacts your earnings through the mission system.

    Strategy

Focus on what you can control: Build service structures across multiple categories. Place vehicles on properties. Develop properties with structures rather than leaving them empty.

Don’t chase the algorithm: Without published weights, trying to min-max your Influence Score is guesswork. Build a neighborhood that looks good and has diverse services — that’s likely what “balanced” means.

Coordinate with neighbors: Individual Influence Scores contribute to the overall neighborhood Resident Score. Coordinated building across multiple property owners is more effective than one whale building alone.
