Quick Answer
Metaventures are player-owned shops in Upland. Owners can sell Block Explorers, Legits, and other items to other players for UPX or USD. Think of them as in-game storefronts.
How They Work
- Property owners can set up a Metaventure on their property
- Stock it with items you want to sell
- Set prices in UPX or USD ($10,000 max per transaction)
- Other players visit and purchase items
- Customize branding with a banner, background, and description
- Metaventures appear as orange dots on the map
Metaventure Types
Six categories, each with a different map icon:
- Block Explorer Shops (purple chess pawn)
- NFLPA Fan Shops (blue foam finger)
- Football Fan Shops (red scarf)
- Car Showrooms (black steering wheel)
- Map Asset Showrooms (grey statue)
- Structure Ornament Showrooms (multicolored lights)
Sub-Merchant System (Passive Income)
Metaventure owners can let other players list items in their shop as sub-merchants. Shop owners set commission rates between 2% and 10% on sub-merchant sales. This creates passive income — you own the shop, others supply inventory, you take a cut of every sale.
- Sub-merchants request to list items
- Shop owner accepts and can negotiate pricing
- Commission earned automatically on each sub-merchant sale
As a Buyer
- Visit Metaventures to find items other players are selling
- Prices are set by the shop owner, not Upland
- As of April 2026, purchases from Metaventures deliver instantly to your wallet
Gamified Earnings Connection
Missions like “Venture Capitalist” require buying items from Metaventures, creating periodic demand spikes that benefit shop owners and sub-merchants.
